The Sport and Recreation industry covers four sectors, Community Recreation (Leisure Education, Community Recreation Activities, and Adaptive Recreation) Fitness (Fitness Services and Fitness Facilities) Outdoor Recreation (Outdoor Clubs, Holiday Camps, Recreation Equipment Hire, Outdoor Activities and Parks and Gardens Sport Outdoor Venues) Indoor Venues, Sports Administration, Sports Coaching, and Sport Officiating. The Industry plays a key role in the commercial operations of many other industries through the promotion of Outdoor Activities in Tourism, Sport and Health. The Industry covers a wide range of occupations including Coaching, Officiating, Athlete Support Services, Development, Career Orientated Participation, and Event Management. Fitness Services and Fitness Facilities, Instructing, Training, Facility Management, Fitness Administration, and Youth and Disability Services are covered by this Training Package. Guiding and Instruction cover a wide range of Recreational Activities Outdoor Clubs, Holiday Camps, Recreation Equipment Hire, Outdoor Activities and Parks and Gardens, Organisation and Management This Sector covers the provision of Recreation Services in a variety of Community Settings and is characterised by the Community Base for Service Provision and the Non-Profit nature of the Organisations (although these organisations are not always non-profit). It also includes both active and passive forms of activity. The Training Package covers those working in the Fitness Industry. There is some overlap with the Health and Community Services. Fitness Instructors, Massage Therapists, Media-Related Occupations and Business and Information Professionals working in the Recreation Industry. Other areas of the industry include Eco-tourism/ Adventure-tourism, Sports tourism, Event management, and Fitness and Health-related services. |
