From the desk of Executive Officer - Wendy Moulds
I would like to welcome back our members and stakeholders and personally wish all of you a very successful 2010. The coming year is shaping up to be very busy and rewarding for CHARTTES and many of the sectors that we represent. The 2009 CHARTTES Training Advisory & the Human Services Training Advisory Councils combined Christmas celebration was held at Crocosaurus Cove on Thursday 3 December 2009. The celebration gave the 80 stakeholders, staff and guests representing both Training Advisory Councils the opportunity to mingle and network together and enjoy the many activities that the Cove offers.
This will be my last newsletter item as I move on from CHARTTES at the end of February. I have thoroughly enjoyed my 18 months here and am sure that the organisation will continue to serve it's members well.

It is with sadness that I have accepted the resignation of our Executive Officer Wendy Moulds who will take up a position with the Northern Territory Government. In the 18 months she has been with the organisation, Wendy has been responsible for many organisational improvements and we shall all miss her professionalism and management skills. Productivity Places Program (PPP)
The Department of Employment, Education and Training has announced the qualifications funded under the Northern Territory administered Productivity Places Program for 2010. Training Package Update - SIT07

National Quality Council (NQC) Announces more choice within Training Packages
At its last meeting of 2009, the National Quality Council (NQC) has approved a range of measures that will respond to requests from industry, employers and learners for more choice and greater flexibility. The changes flow from the VET Products for the 21st Century Report of June 2009, which was the culmination of more than 12 months joint work by the NQC and the Council of Australian Governments (COAG). The NQC decisions focus on the rules about the content of Training Package qualifications and the ways an individual learner or an employer can choose which units are ‘packaged’ together to meet the requirements for a VET qualification.
