The Industry

The Caravans industry plays a key role in the commercial operations of many other industries through the sales promotion of tourism, retail sales, food and beverage operations, parks and attractions. The industry includes Retail and Wholesale travel, Visitor Information, Attractions and Theme Parks, Meetings and Guiding. It  also includes Recreational Vehicle Manufacture, Servicing, accessories retailing and Caravan Park Operations.

Training Packages

THC00 Caravans

The Caravan Industry Training Package covers caravan parks operation and management, recreational vehicle manufacturing, recreational vehicle servicing, and recreational vehicle and accessories retail.

There are 14 qualifications in the Caravan Industry Package ranging from Certificate II to Diploma.

Caravan parks relates closely to the Tourism and Hospitality Training Packages and could have been addressed in one or the other. However, all sectors of the industry were untted under a strong industry association and did not want to be fragmented between several industry Packages. Consequently, a seperate Caravan Industry Package was developed which included all four sub-sectors.
