SRF04 Fitness

Fitness services and fitness facilities, instructing, training, facility management, fitness administration, and youth and disability services are covered by this Training Package.

This Training Package covers those working in the fitness industry. There is some overlap with the Health and Community Services industries but as this is new ground, there are no clear boundaries or processes. Negotiations between the two Industry Skills Council have been taking place to establish the boundaries.

There are 3 specific qualifactions related to Fitness and limited number of Fitness-specific units of competence, with most units being imported from the other Sport and Recreation Packages or from other industry Packages. However, the Fitness industry sees itself as a separate industry and is represented by an industry association which oversees an accreditation scheme closely linked to the Training Packages.
