The IndustryWriting is a vibrant industry in the Northern Territory, with a number of writers in Darwin, Alice Springs and the regions having been published by either the Territory’s own Indigenous publisher, IAD Press, the smaller presses, CDU Press and Batchelor Press, or by larger mainstream national publishers. The NT Writers Centre provides a strong support network for Territory writers, promoting the interests of its members. Publishing is predominantly represented by Indigenous publisher IAD Press, which is a national publisher representing Indigenous writers from Central Australia and the wider Australian Indigenous community nationally, with smaller presses CDU Press and Batchelor Press. Journalism would include television journalism – ‘Imparja’ and ABC Television; print journalism – Alice Springs News, Centralian Advocate, NT News; and radio journalism – ABC Radio, and other commercial radio stations.
