The Industry

The Visual Arts, Crafts and Design industry plays a key role in the commercial operations of many other industries through the sale of products including amongst others; painting, sculpture, digital art, ceramics and design fundamentals and media such as wood, glass and local products. The industry recognises the significant contribution of the Indigenous artists, especially to the tourism industry, where the creation and sale of artifacts and souvenirs plays a vital role in the economy of the Northern Territory. The industry covers a wide range of functions including Photo imaging, Visual Arts and Contemporary craft, Design, Arts Administration and Management, collection Management and Exhibitions.
