Service Skills Australia has developed 'The 4 Steps to Taking the Lead' professional development program. This program works through the useful tips, information and links relating to literacy and numeracy to be found on its Taking the Lead website.

The program also reflects the structure of the elective unit within TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, titled TAALLN401B Address language, literacy and numeracy issues within learning and assessment practice. So participating trainers and assessors will build skills in identifying and addressing languge, literacy and numeracy issues, and at the same time can collect evidence for the unit if they choose. 

The first of these free professional sessions being offered by SSA as part of this WELL-funded project have already been held in Canberra and Perth, with more scheduled for other states.
