The Cultural Industries contribute to the culture and heritage of Australia. They are vital for a vibrant and creative society, and also support industry more broadly with essential services including design, innovation and interpretation. CHARTTES represents the following Cultural Industries:
There are currently five Training Packages that detail competency standards and nationally recognised qualifications for the cultural industries. The Entertainment Training Package CUE03 includes qualifications in a range of specialist areas for live production, theatre and events including design, construction and manufacturing, technical services and venue and event services. The Film, TV, Radio and Multimedia Training Package CUF01 include qualifications in the specialist areas of broadcast engineering, radio and television broadcasting, multimedia, and screen. The Museum and Library/Information Services Training Package CUL04 includes qualifications in library/information services or museum practice from Certificate II to Advanced Diploma. The Music Training Package CUS01 includes Certificate I and II qualifications that provide a foundation for entry into the music industry and a range of higher level qualifications in general and specialist areas. The Visual Arts, Craft and Design Training Package CUV03 includes qualifications ranging from Certificate I to Advanced Diploma across a wide range of specialisations including Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander cultural arts, arts administration and management, design, opal cutting and polishing, photoimaging, and visual arts and contemporary craft.
